Overview

micro1 is engaging physicians to help train AI systems by reviewing clinical content and medical records. In this contract role, you'll apply your family medicine expertise to annotate clinical data, evaluate AI-generated outputs for safety and accuracy, and provide feedback to improve model understanding.

What You’ll Do

  • Annotate and review clinical content and medical records including office visit notes, assessments, plans, referrals, lab and imaging results
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for clinical accuracy, safety, and appropriateness across patient populations from pediatrics to geriatrics
  • Apply clinical judgment to validate and enrich datasets using evidence-based guidelines and standards of care
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders via written and verbal communication to clarify requirements and resolve documentation ambiguities
  • Provide high-quality feedback on guidelines and edge cases to improve project workflows

Requirements

  • Active MD degree
  • Board certification in Family Medicine (ideally)
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the U.S.
  • Hands-on clinical experience in primary care or family medicine settings
  • Broad clinical exposure across acute, chronic, and preventive care across multiple age groups
  • Proficiency with written and verbal communication

Who Should Apply

This suits physicians who want flexible, intellectual work outside of clinical burnout — you'll use your expertise but on your own schedule with no patient care overhead. It's less suitable for someone seeking the face-to-face practice of medicine or the continuity of patient relationships; this is data review and feedback, not diagnosis and treatment.

Salary Insight

$100–$120/hour is competitive for contract clinical review work and translates to roughly $200K–$240K annually at full-time hours, though contract roles typically offer no benefits or guaranteed volume. Research whether micro1 offers consistent availability before accepting.

Application Tip

Lead with a specific example of a clinical system or dataset you've worked with end-to-end — annotation or quality review experience, even informal peer feedback, is a strong signal. AI companies hiring physicians for data work are not looking for researchers; they're looking for clinicians who can reliably catch errors and spot edge cases. A brief note on a tricky case you've flagged or a quality improvement project you've contributed to will outweigh credentials alone.
