Overview

micro1 is engaging Hospitalist Physicians to contribute their medical expertise to a customer project focused on inpatient care and documentation standards. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems by reviewing medical records and providing high-quality feedback on clinical documentation.

What You’ll Do

  • Review medical records, including FHIR data and clinical notes for AI Training
  • Check whether clinical information and claims are supported by the medical record
  • Review inpatient documentation, including HPI, PMH, assessments, and plans
  • Follow clear guidelines and apply the same standards consistently
  • Identify missing, incorrect, or inconsistent information in medical records
  • Share feedback to help improve AI models and data quality
  • Communicate clearly with the project team about your work and findings

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board certified in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or Hospital Medicine
  • Current or recent inpatient/hospitalist experience within the last 2 years
  • Strong understanding of inpatient documentation and hospital workflows
  • Comfortable reviewing clinical notes and raw medical record data
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow clear guidelines consistently

Who Should Apply

This role suits hospitalists and internal medicine physicians seeking flexible, remote contract work that leverages their clinical expertise without the intensity of patient care. It will frustrate someone needing direct patient interaction, complex case management autonomy, or traditional employment structure — this is documentation review and QA feedback, not clinical decision-making.

Salary Insight

At $70–$100/hr, this is lower than typical hospitalist clinical compensation ($50–$70/hr is standard for contract physician QA work, so this is in the fair-to-good range for documentation review), but reflects that you're doing focused record review and AI training work rather than patient rounds or admissions. The wide band suggests it may depend on your certification level and niche experience.

Application Tip

Lead with your most recent chart review, documentation improvement, or utilization review experience — even if it was a side project or past role. This team is evaluating your ability to apply consistent standards to raw data, not your clinical judgment on live patients. A concrete example of catching documentation gaps or data quality issues will carry more weight than listing your hospital affiliations.
