Overview

Turing builds high-quality data and evaluations for AI models across coding, reasoning, and multimodality, working with frontier AI labs and Fortune 500 enterprises. In this role, you will review AI-generated responses based on personal context from G-Suite Apps and Google Messages to assess personalization quality and help improve next-generation AI systems.

What You’ll Do

  • Review AI-generated prompts and responses in English
  • Evaluate responses for relevance, accuracy, helpfulness, and personalization
  • Assess how well AI understands everyday context, preferences, relationships, routines, and experiences
  • Provide clear ratings, explanations, and feedback
  • Follow project guidelines and maintain a high level of consistency

Requirements

  • Primary Google Pixel 8 or newer device
  • Android 17 or higher
  • Regular user of Google Messages app for personal SMS/RCS conversations
  • Comfortable reviewing AI content in English
  • Communication skills

Who Should Apply

Apply if you're a regular Google Pixel and Google Messages user comfortable spending 20+ hours a week making nuanced judgments about AI output quality, and you have the communication skills to explain your reasoning clearly. This role will frustrate you if you prefer hands-on product development, dislike detailed annotation work, or don't already live in the Google ecosystem and can't commit to a 16-week contract.

Salary Insight

At $25/hour for 20 hours/week, this nets roughly $2,000/month gross during the 16-week project, with the option to scale to 40 hours/week if needed. This is typical for AI rater roles, which are generally contract work with no benefits; the rate is reasonable for English-language evaluation work but relatively modest. Clarify upfront whether this is 1099 or W-2 treatment, as that affects your take-home significantly.

Application Tip

Turing's selection process emphasizes your actual profile and device usage patterns: your application will be checked against device logs and messaging activity. Rather than overstating your familiarity with AI, lead with specific examples of how you actually use Google Messages and personal apps—mention real feedback you've given on AI tools or data work you've done. They're hiring for consistency and judgment, not enthusiasm; demonstrate that you understand the task is tedious attention-to-detail work and you're OK with that.
