Who Should Apply
This role suits native Russian speakers with strong English communication skills who have a keen ear for linguistic nuance and enjoy detailed analytical work. It's ideal for linguists, language teachers, or those with phonetics/audio engineering backgrounds. You'll find it frustrating if you prefer hands-on technical work, visual-heavy tasks, or roles with significant team interaction and rapid iteration.
Salary Insight
The $30–$65/hr range is wide, likely reflecting variation by experience, specialization (phonetics/linguistics background), and performance quality. This is contractor work with no stated benefits. Research similar remote language evaluation roles to understand where you might position yourself in this band—those with formal linguistics or audio engineering credentials typically command the higher end.

Application Tip
Lead with evidence of linguistic precision, not just fluency: mention any formal training in phonetics, linguistics, or audio assessment, or point to work where you've evaluated or documented language quality (teaching, transcription, content review). Hiring managers for these projects scrutinise writing samples—your application itself is an audition. Show that you understand the distinction between native fluency and the ability to articulate *why* something sounds native, and clarify your experience with written technical feedback.
