Overview

micro1 is hiring 360° video recorders to capture immersive footage for an AI training project. You'll record third-person video across various real-world environments—indoor, outdoor, and in-vehicle—to help train next-generation AI systems to understand how models learn and perform in natural settings.

What You’ll Do

  • Capture continuous video clips (minimum 60 seconds) of everyday activities in indoor, outdoor, and in-vehicle settings
  • Operate compatible 360° or wide-angle cameras (Insta360, DJI Osmo, GoPro MAX) with at least 170° FOV and 720p resolution
  • Use appropriate third-person mounting solutions (backpack or vehicle mounts) to maintain clear perspective with your entire body visible
  • Follow camera placement and activity guidelines to ensure data consistency and technical quality
  • Document and submit video files according to project specifications
  • Communicate progress, questions, and technical challenges proactively

Requirements

  • Compatible 360° or wide-angle camera with minimum 170° FOV and 720p resolution (Insta360, DJI Osmo, GoPro MAX series)
  • Access to appropriate third-person mounting solutions (backpack or vehicle mounts)
  • Ability to record continuous clips of at least 60 seconds
  • Attention to detail in following camera placement and technical requirements
  • Video recording experience
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills

Who Should Apply

This role suits someone with their own 360° or wide-angle camera gear and flexibility to record in various environments without strict scheduling. You'll thrive if you're detail-oriented, can follow precise technical specifications, and are comfortable working independently. This will frustrate you if you need guaranteed income (pay is per-clip), don't own compatible equipment, or prefer structured team-based work—the role is entirely remote and self-directed.

Salary Insight

The $10–$30/hr range is paid per clip completed rather than hourly; your actual earnings depend on clip length and how quickly you can shoot, organize, and submit footage meeting specifications. This is entry-level gig-work pay; the wide range reflects whether you work methodically or can batch-produce clips efficiently. Research comparable short-form video work and have clear expectations with the client on how many clips/hours equals a paycheck.

Application Tip

Lead with evidence that you already own the required equipment and understand third-person framing—mention a specific camera model you have and describe one environment or activity type you'd record. The hiring bar is concrete: do you have a GoPro MAX or Insta360 right now, and can you explain the mounting setup? Weak applications list camera models without confirming ownership, or ignore the specific third-person perspective requirement. A short video sample of your mount and framing (even a 20-second test clip) will get you hired faster than a resume.
