Overview

micro1 is hiring Visual Content Evaluators to assess and compare AI-generated images against originals, identifying visual flaws and artifacts to help train next-generation AI systems. The role involves detailed visual comparison, documentation of discrepancies, and constructive feedback to improve AI model performance.

What You’ll Do

  • Upload original images that follow project specifications
  • Compare original images with AI-generated counterparts in meticulous side-by-side assessments
  • Identify and document visual discrepancies including lighting, perspective, texture, anatomy, and color fidelity issues
  • Detect and flag common AI image artifacts such as warped hands, smudged surfaces, inconsistent shadows, broken patterns, or misshapen text
  • Compose clear, accurate written descriptions for each identified issue with exact location pinpointing
  • Apply high standards of quality assurance following detailed project guidelines
  • Provide thorough, constructive feedback for model improvement

Requirements

  • Based in the United States
  • Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills
  • Keen visual acuity with ability to detect subtle differences between images
  • Background in photography, digital imaging, graphic design, photo editing, or related discipline
  • Understanding of AI image generation processes and typical failure points
  • Demonstrated experience in image evaluation, data annotation, comparison, or visual quality assurance
  • Detail-oriented and reliable approach to comprehensive review

Who Should Apply

Apply if you have a trained eye for visual detail, experience in photography or design, and the patience for meticulous comparison work—this role suits people who enjoy precision tasks and can articulate exactly what they see. It will frustrate anyone who finds it hard to sit with repetitive visual inspection, who can't write clearly about technical visual issues, or who prioritizes speed over accuracy.

Salary Insight

$40–$60/hr is a reasonable range for contract visual QA work, but the width suggests payment varies by experience level, project type, or your geographic region within the US. Clarify during onboarding whether your specific assignment pays at the lower or higher end, and whether the rate covers only active comparison time or includes time uploading images and writing feedback.

Application Tip

Lead with a specific example of visual work you've done—a project where you caught subtle flaws, described technical image problems accurately, or trained someone else's eye. Hiring managers for this role care less about your resume format and far more about whether you can demonstrate precise visual judgment and clear written communication. Show that you understand AI image artifacts (warped hands, texture inconsistencies, shadow breaks) by name; if you've seen these problems before, say so.
