Overview

micro1 engages Registered Nurses to help train AI systems using their clinical expertise. You'll review inpatient documentation and evaluate AI-generated clinical outputs to ensure accuracy, safety, and appropriateness, applying real-world bedside nursing knowledge to shape how models learn.

What You’ll Do

  • Annotate and review clinical content including nursing notes, progress notes, care plans, orders, lab results, and discharge summaries
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for clinical accuracy, safety, and appropriateness across inpatient populations
  • Apply nursing judgment and knowledge of inpatient workflows and standards of care to validate and enrich datasets
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders via written and verbal communication to clarify requirements
  • Provide feedback on guidelines and edge cases to improve project workflows and model understanding

Requirements

  • Active RN license and ability to practice in the United States
  • Recent inpatient bedside RN experience
  • Broad clinical exposure across different inpatient populations
  • Comfort reviewing documentation across multiple patient types rather than single specialty
  • Experience in academic or large health system setting
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication

Who Should Apply

This role suits experienced bedside RNs with broad inpatient exposure who want flexible, remote work and enjoy detail-oriented, methodical tasks. It's a good fit if you can articulate clinical reasoning in writing and thrive in structured documentation review. It will frustrate nurses who need immediate patient impact, prefer hands-on care, or find remote annotation work isolating.

Salary Insight

$60–$70/hour is competitive for remote contract clinical work, but notably below typical staff RN wages in many U.S. markets. This reflects the nature of the work — no shift coverage, no benefits, and project-based rather than continuous employment. Factor in lack of benefits, no paid leave, and project volatility before accepting; raise the hourly rate question early if your local RN wage is higher.

Application Tip

Lead with a concrete example of your experience evaluating or reviewing clinical documentation — a time you caught an error, questioned a note, or validated a clinical decision. This team is training AI on nuance; they need to see you think critically about clinical reasoning, not just list your years in inpatient care. If you have any prior annotation or data-labeling work, mention it prominently, even if outside healthcare.
