Overview
Turing is an AI research accelerator based in San Francisco that develops Large Language Models for enterprise applications. This role supports LLM development by designing and validating logistics workflows, ensuring AI outputs maintain operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, and fulfillment speed.
What You’ll Do
- Map and recreate complex logistics operational workflows including receiving, inventory management, packing, shipping, returns, and cross-docking
- Validate AI-generated outputs in scenarios such as automated inventory allocation, route optimization, and carrier performance predictions
- Simulate supply chain challenges including warehouse labor planning, SLA compliance tracking, and security audits for inventory control
- Create detailed annotations and structured datasets from inventory transactions and operational logs to improve LLM training
- Test AI support for picking optimization, real-time inventory adjustments, and exception handling during peak operations
Requirements
- 3+ years hands-on experience in Warehouse Operations, Distribution Center Management, Supply Chain Planning, or Last-Mile Logistics
- High proficiency with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), TMS (Transportation Management Systems), ERP inventory modules, or workflow tools like ServiceNow or Jira
- Exceptional attention to detail with understanding of how process deviations impact fulfillment speed and cost
- Conceptual understanding of how operational data is used for training Machine Learning models
- Excellent written English for creating precise SOPs and validating AI-generated communications
Who Should Apply
Apply if you have 3+ years of hands-on logistics or warehouse operations experience and can think analytically about how AI might validate or improve real workflows — someone who has managed inventory systems, caught discrepancies that cost money, and can explain process failures clearly. Avoid this if you expect US-market compensation, need employment benefits, or have never worked directly with WMS/TMS systems; the role demands deep operational literacy that takes years to build, and the pay doesn't reflect that depth.
Salary Insight
This is a contractor rate typical for subject-matter expert work in emerging markets, and notably low for the specialized logistics expertise required. For comparison, experienced logistics operations professionals in the US command $25–$45/hr minimum. Turing is accessing lower-cost talent in specific geographies, but you should understand this reflects regional labor market rates rather than valuation of the work itself. Clarify contract terms upfront: whether hours are guaranteed, how payment is processed, and what extension criteria mean.

Application Tip
Lead with a specific end-to-end logistics problem you owned: a warehouse inefficiency you diagnosed, an inventory discrepancy you traced, or a fulfillment failure you fixed. The hiring team needs evidence that you understand operational consequences (cost, speed, accuracy), not just system features. A short narrative of one incident where you caught or prevented AI-like output quality problems (mis-shipments, data corruption) will outweigh a resume listing WMS tools.
