Overview

Turing is an AI research accelerator based in San Francisco that helps frontier AI labs and enterprises deploy advanced AI systems. This role develops and validates training workflows for Large Language Models by designing educational content, testing AI-generated outputs in merchant learning scenarios, and ensuring accuracy and compliance.

What You’ll Do

  • Map and recreate complex merchant learning workflows including onboarding tutorials, feature adoption guides, and knowledge base governance
  • Validate AI-generated educational outputs such as help center articles, policy summaries, and chatbot responses for technical accuracy and brand consistency
  • Simulate merchant learning challenges including learning path validation, content discovery testing, and policy interpretation audits
  • Provide structured annotations and datasets from help center interactions and training materials to improve LLM training and evaluation

Requirements

  • 3+ years hands-on experience in Technical Writing, Content Strategy, Instructional Design, or Seller/Partner Training for a digital platform or marketplace
  • High familiarity with LMS, CMS, Knowledge Base Platforms (e.g., Zendesk Guide, Confluence), or technical documentation authoring tools
  • Exceptional attention to detail with focus on content accuracy, clarity, and merchant learning experience
  • Conceptual understanding of how usage data, search queries, and support metrics are used for ML/LLM training and evaluation
  • Excellent written English for creating and validating training-quality instructional content

Who Should Apply

This role suits someone with strong instructional design or technical content experience who is detail-oriented, understands how platform features and policies translate to user needs, and is comfortable working within tight compliance constraints. It will frustrate anyone who prefers autonomy in decision-making — the role is heavily about validating outputs against established standards rather than creating from scratch — or who struggles with repetitive validation tasks or unclear feedback loops on what "good" looks like across different policy domains.

Salary Insight

$6–$7/hr is well below typical rates for instructional design and technical content roles in Western markets, but reflects contractor pricing from the specified regions (India, Bangladesh, Egypt, Kenya, Mexico, Ghana, Nigeria, Turkey). Clarify whether this is paid hourly during actual work hours only, how payment is processed, and whether the "4 hours PST overlap" counts toward billable time — time zone misalignment can mean working very early or very late mornings.

Application Tip

Lead with a specific example of educational content you've owned: a training workflow you designed for a complex product or policy, what merchant/user problem it solved, and concrete evidence it worked (adoption rates, support ticket reduction, user feedback). Turing needs someone who can smell when instructional content is confusing or non-compliant, so show you've done that audit work before. If you have experience working with LMS platforms or Zendesk/Confluence, mention a concrete project; generic platform familiarity won't differentiate you.
